A travel guide to Lutherstadt Wittenberg in 4 pages.
Renaissance Wittenberg was the home of the Reformation and most of its historical sites are associated with Martin Luther and his wife Katharina von Bora, Luther's collaborators Philipp Melanchthon and Johannes Bugenhagen, the artist Lucas Cranach the elder, and the Saxon elector Friedrich III, who supporter Luther's work.
Part of the attraction of Wittenberg is that many of these sites have changed little. Travellers can visit the church where Luther is claimed to have posted his 95 theses in protest against the contemporary Catholic church, the church where he preached, and the building where he and his wife lived.
